Last night I unearthed my sewing machine from the ungodly mess that is my crafting area with the understanding that I only had 35 hours until the boys Halloween parade at school and I had better get crackin' on the dragon/dinosaur costumes that I had promised them 6 weeks ago and for some reason I thought last night was Wednesday night, which gave me less time.
(Wow, that was quite the run on sentence, I guess that happens when you're blogging after sleeping for an hour)
Yup, stayed up ALL NIGHT to sew those costumes. Even managed to sew a sleeve on upside down... and they are still not finished. I was making so many mistakes by 5AM that I decided to put them aside and go at them again tonight.
Obviously I am delirious and sleep deprived, but for some odd reason thought this was worth posting.
The best part? My dear husband mentions to me this morning that his mom bought dinosaur costumes for the boys and would be dropping them off today.
I'm going to bed
Happy WIP'ing Wednesday to you all.

oh no! hahah! not laughing at you sweetie, just with you because of the already purchased costumes. you and i are alot alike...i tend to do most of my crafting late into the night and then similar things will occur with something already being purchased or ready and i didn't realize it...*hug* get some sleep my dear...and remember, what a good mommy you are to take so much care and thought into your kids' fun!
xoxo
Ugh! Sorry about our MIL. Will you use hers or yours?
Hang in there...it's all worth it. And keep crafting and posting.
oh, marina! of course you are making their costumes! nico might be small enough to fit in the hand-me-down storebought dinosaur/dragon costume we have. you are welcome to try (although after a crafting all nighter, i feel sacrilegious even offering.) you are on my awe list now. we had so many hand me downs given to us, i am not making any costumes. actually, in truth, no idea why, but halloween costumes never make it onto my "want to craft" list. shhhhh...
rest well, my friend!

ps. an all nighter is not recommended for knocking stomach bugs!
Oh goodness! We ARE sharing the same brain right now aren't we?! We need to live next door to each other so we can stay up all night crafting together :)
What a night! Are you going to finish them or use MILs? I can't wait to see pics!! <3
Isn't that just the way it works?! I hope you really did go to bed!!!

wow, marina, i must say, you are kind of crazy! i have only stayed up till about 3am sewing. can't wait to see pics of what you accomplished though :)
Oh no about the purchased costumes! LOL Personally, I find I work best under pressure. I'm sure you're the same! ;)
Oh my! I was supposed to send you pictures of The Little's dino outfit, but totally forgot amidst this silly h1n1 virus. I can't wait to see how they turned out!
I'm so stubborn that the costumes from the MIL would tick me off and I'd stay up all night tonight too finishing costumes even they were sewn upside down and backward ;)
Yup. That is the way it goes. I completely feel your Halloween pain. If it makes you feel better your costumes were totally sweet! I think there will be some kind of karmic payback for all those late night crafting hours. I once stayed up ALL NIGHT to finish a pair of socks on Christmas Eve. And then they didn't fit. Your costumes were worth it though!
